Thumbnail Gallery of Postcards
Many of these postcards date from the early 1900's.

Freeman Fletcher Brown, Jr., known as Fletcher while growing up, lived on Vinalhaven, Maine from his birth in 1914 until 1926 when his father, Freeman Fletcher Brown, Sr. moved his family to Rockland, Maine. Fletcher's grandfather, Freeman Abner Brown, owned a mill that ground grain on Vinalhaven.

In the late 1990's Fletcher sent these postcards to his children, thus "your grandfather" refers to Freeman Brown, Sr., and "Mother" refers to the wife of Freeman Brown, Sr.

On November 18, 1999 at age 85 Fletcher died suddenly in his home house in Columbia, Maryland.
